Supporting women in our community

Buckling Babes

Partnering with Maggie’s Place, Buckling Babes’ provides a new child safety seat for every mother and child living in a Maggie’s Place home. Once the mother completes a two hour safety seat training course she is eligible for a car seat. The course is conducted by a staff certified Safety Educator through the State of Arizona. Moms in need get special infant car seats that can be used on buses and other forms of public transportation. This program provides safety to the babies while allowing their mother’s the freedom to ride the bus knowing their child is safe.

Moms in need receive a special infant car seat and/or snap-n-go stroller or convertible car seat which can be used on buses, metro and other forms of public transportation. This program provides safety to the infants and education to mothers. Maggie’s Place operates 6 homes in the greater Phoenix area and welcomes over 90 women and their children each year.

Homebound Women

Our members deliver food, hygiene, and other necessities to nearly one hundred elderly women in our community TWICE each year as part of our Homebound Women project. EVWL partners with the Tempe Community Action Agency  as well as the Gilbert Community Center. Over the years, hundreds of lovely ladies have opened the door to our friendly faces and appreciated knowing someone cares.
